MOMOLAND member Nancy Jewel McDonie a.k.a. Nancy is on the spotlight right now with the success of her TV guesting in the hit reality-game show Running Man Philippines.
The multi-talented K-pop beauty is the celebrity guest in the latest race dubbed 'Seoulmates', which aired last August 3 and August 4. Aside from the program scoring strong TV ratings, many of the scenes from the episode got millions of views on TikTok as well.
This Wednesday (August 7), the members of the GMA-7 press got to interview Nancy and learn more about the Sparkle talent.
It was back in April 2024, when Sparkle GMA Artist Center officially announced that she was among the company's prized artists.
Nancy began her music career in 2011 when she auditioned for 'Korea's Got Talent.' She participated in a reality survival show called 'Finding Momoland' in 2016.
Later that year, she debuted as a member of the girl group MOMOLAND and this idol group scored several huge hits like 'Bboom Bboom' and 'BAAM.'
One of the many things asked her was since she started earning as a K-pop idol, what was the biggest splurge she never regretted buying?
Thinking about her answer for a few seconds, Nancy replied that she didn't mind splurging on a good refrigerator.
She explained, “It's kinda random, but I think my refrigerator. Cause like it was [my] first time buying my own refrigerator and I went shopping with my mom. And I think it was because I was like living alone for the first time and then I wanted to go shopping for a refrigerator cause you need one.
“My mom was like, 'You know what you should buy a good refrigerator because once you buy one you can use it for a decade.' So, I'm like, 'Okay.'”

With a promising career ahead both here in the Philippines and internationally, we were curious to know what she would tell her younger self or any advice that she would give to that person who was still starting her K-pop journey.
Nancy told GMANetwork.com that she would tell her younger version of the importance of taking care of one's self, both physically and mentally.
“I think always be humble and thankful. I think the most important part is taking care of yourself. Like mentally and physically, because I started at such a young age like I really don't know how to take care of myself. So, I do want to go back and I wish I could have that trait that I knew how to take care of myself. Even like through all the busy schedules and currently happening. I think the most important thing is to be grounded and humble.”
