Sparkle heartthrob Kokoy de Santos was beaming from ear to ear when he talked about his fellow cast member Angel Guardian in the biggest reality-game show Running Man Philippines.

Both of them, together with Mikael Daez, Glaiza De Castro, Ruru Madrid, Buboy Villar, and Lexi Gonzales, are flying to South Korea soon to shoot the entire season of the show.

In an exclusive interview with Kapuso Showbiz News, Kokoy was ecstatic when he found out that the Kapuso actress will be part of the show, too.

He said, “Actually nung nalaman ko si Angel 'yun, sabi ko, 'Wow, wow!'

“Kasi, ewan ko kung nasabi niya 'to sa press, pero Angel, kung mabasa mo o mapanood mo 'to, sorry.”

Kokoy then shared that Angel confided in him that she was mulling over quitting her showbiz career during their taping for Pepito Manaloto: Ang Unang Kuwento.

“Kasi kami before sa Pepito Manaloto, kami-kaming mga cast, nagkakaroon siyempre ng heart-to-heart na mga chikahan minsan. Ang sabi niya, nabanggit niya at some point, gusto niya rin mag-stop na sa showbiz.

“Kasi feeling niya, 'yung personality niya talaga. Hindi niya alam kung paano niya ilulugar 'yung sarili niya, kasi may pagka-introvert 'yung tao.

“And siyempre, kapag nasa industriya ka, siyempre minsan kailangan mo 'yung kung ano 'yung personality mo minsan itataas mo pa, kasi iba talaga sa showbiz.

“I'm very happy na nandito rin siya sa project na 'to, kasi feeling ko hindi ito arte kasi e, I mean, hindi ka aarte. Ikaw 'to, ilalabas mo kung sino ka talaga.

“So happy ako na makakasama ko rin dito si Angel.”

Bagging this project is a really an immense opportunity and Kokoy admitted that he was wondering why GMA Network chose him to be part of Running Man Philippines.

He explained, “Actually, 'yun din 'yung inisip ko noong una e. Ako, hindi naman sa kinu-question ko 'yung sarili ko, 'Bakit kaya ako napasali?'

“Kasi, feeling ko ang daming deserve din. Deserving na artista, na public figure, para doon sa spot ko. Pero, at the same time, iniisip ko blessing 'to and nagtiwala 'yung team, 'yung production.”

Kokoy also has only kind words for his fellow cast members and is excited to get to know them much better in the coming months.

“Nung na-meet ko na at nalaman ko kung sino 'yung mga makakasama ko, may ano sa akin, 'Ah! Gusto nila na something na parang magkakaiba talaga kami ng personalities.'

“Iba 'yung feeling, siyempre kasama natin si Mikael [Daez] . Ang tagal na rin yan sa industriya, ang dami ng napatunayan nitong taong ito. Talagang lodi kumbaga. Glaiza [De Castro] isa pa yan, Ruru [Madrid], Lexi [Gonzales].

“Kumbaga, 'yung iba dito first time ko sila makakasama, makakatrabaho, pero 'yung mga iba naka-work ko na rin before. Exciting, exciting actually. Mas nakikilala ko sila everytime na nagkakaroon kami ng mga events, kahit pa virtually lang.”
