According to 'Voltes V: Legacy' director Mark Reyes, the live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese '70s anime is eight years in the making.

Mark Reyes excites Voltes V: Legacy fans as the director proudly announced that the live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese '70s anime finally began its lock-in taping.

This is a significant event in Mark's professional career as a creative artist because Voltes V: Legacy, which is eight years in the making, is now materializing.

"Day 1 of an 8 year journey. Let's begin. ...Finally. #voltesvlegacy #letsvtogether #dreamsdocometrue," Direk Mark wrote in his caption, alongside a photo of his production ID.

In the comments section, a curious netizen asked the director why it took eight years to make the GMA series to which Mark replied, "it took me eight years to pitch and develop it and have it approved by GMA and Toei , Japan."

According to Direk Mark, they first quarantined for a few days in a hotel in Quezon City and underwent COVID-19 swab testing for their health and safety before they were brought to their second hotel near the studio where the actual production bubble takes place.

The lock-in taping will last for three weeks.

Voltes V: Legacy stars Miguel Tanfelix as Steve Armstrong, Ysabel Ortega as Jamie Robinson, Radson Flores as Mark Gordon, Matt Lozano as Big Bert Armstrong, and child star Raphael Landicho as Lil Jon Armstrong.

Meanwhile, playing the menacing characters of Prince Zardoz and Zandra are Martin del Rosario and Liezel Lopez.

Also part of the much-awaited series are Epy Quizon as Zuhl, Carlo Gonzalez as Draco, Neil Ryan Sese as Dr. Hook, and Gabby Eigenmann as Commander Robinson.

Voltes V: Legacy is an exclusive offering of the GMA Entertainment Group. The script, written by Suzette Doctolero, was approved by Toei Company, Ltd. and Telesuccess Productions Inc.
