Why U.S. Birthright Citizenship Matters: Protecting Fundamental Rights

President Donald Trump signed an executive order repealing birthright citizenship. Legally, this claim warrants scrutiny. Pursuant to the order, citizenship will only be conferred to children born in the United States whose mother or father is a lawful permanent resident or U.S. citizen.
