GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) now has a reliable partner in San Miguel Foods, Inc. (SMFI) for its Feed-A-Child project.

Under the partnership, the country’s leading poultry producer will provide Magnolia Chicken to GMAKF’s feeding project which aims to improve the nutritional status of more than 300 children in three barangays in Presentacion, Camarines Sur. Presentacion is listed as one of the top ten malnourished municipalities in Camarines Sur.

The six-month project will also highlight the act of bayanihan between parents and teachers in preparing meals for the students in Presentacion, namely, Maangas Elementary School, Bagong Sirang Elementary School, and Parubcan Central School.

Present during the signing at the GMAKF Headquarters were GMAKF EVP and COO Ms. Rikki Escudero-Catibog and Operations Manager Earl Rosero, together with SMFI’s President Ms. Rita Imelda B. Palabyab, Vice President for Marketing Mr. Reginald I. Baylosis, Marketing Manager Mr. Jake D. Lugay, and Magnolia Chicken Brand Manager Ms. Anna Camille J. Sabale.

Escudero-Catibog expressed her gratitude to SMFI for trusting GMAKF. “It is an honor for GMAKF to have a partner like San Miguel Foods in our effort to fight malnutrition, particularly in Camarines Sur,” Escudero-Catibog said.

On the other hand, Palabyab said that this partnership with GMAKF has a multiplier effect. “As I listen to the mechanics of how they select the community and how they monitor the progress of the children, it’s also very aligned with what we do ourselves. So that multiplier effect is really in place,” Palabyab said.
