GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) recently held a groundbreaking ceremony together with its key partners and stakeholders for the construction of a steel and concrete hanging bridge in Paquibato, Davao.

GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) recently held a groundbreaking ceremony together with its key partners and stakeholders for the construction of a steel and concrete hanging bridge in Paquibato, Davao.

Under its Kapuso Tulay Para sa Kaunlaran project, GMAKF is building a 50-meter bridge made out of steel and concrete at Barangay Mapula in Paquibato, Davao City. This bridge will provide safe and easier access to schools and markets for the benefit of over 2,000 residents including members of the Ata Manobo tribe. This will be the third Kapuso Tulay that GMAKF is building following its successful bridge construction in two barangays in Buhi, Camarines Sur in the Bicol Region. 

The groundbreaking and MOA signing ceremony was led by GMAKF EVP and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog; together with Philippine Army Commander, Eastern Mindanao Command Lt. General Felimon Santos; Davao City Acting Mayor Hon. Sebastian Duterte; Peace 911 Focal Person Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapina; and DPWH Regional Director Allan Borromeo. 

The project was also made possible through the support of the following donors and partners: DMI Philippines- MX3 Natural Supplements; The Royal Mandaya Hotel; CEMEX Philippines; PPG Philippines; Equator Energy Corporation; Magnalume Roofs; AFP Eastern Mindanao Command; 52nd Engineer Brigade PA, 10th Infantry Division; Peace 911; DPWH Region XI; and the local government of Davao City.
