The GMA Kapuso Foundation received a generous donation of P1,000,000.00 from the Anvil Business Club.
The money will go to the relief operations for the displaced persons and evacuees of the Taal Volcano eruption.
The donation was handed over by the officers of the Anvil Business Club, headed by Chairman Wilson Lee Flores and Vice-chairman John Patrick Cua to the GMA Kapuso Foundation as represented by Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rikki Escudero-Catibog on January 21, 2020 at the GMA Network Center.
"We believe that giving back to society, especially our less fortunate brothers and sisters is very important. Lalo na (ngayon), they're are very much in need of the Taal Volcano (eruption). We believe that GMA Kapuso Foundatuon is the best way for us to reach them, especially as the track record of the foundation is very good—really uplifting the lives of the less fortunate Filipinos," says Anvil Business Club President Hubert Henry Chua.
With this monetary aid, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rikki Escudero-Catibog shared that GMA Kapuso Foundation is planning a medical mission for the Taal Volcano evacuees.
"Very grateful tayo sa Anvil dahil they turned over a one million peso donation, specifically for the victims of the displacement caused by the eruption of Taal Volcano. Talagang ang daming matutulong niyan kasi at the end of the month, next level na ang GMA Kapuso Foundation. Magme-medical mission na kami dahil nabalitaan namin na napakaraming bata ang merong upper respiratory infections. We're going to go there with our volunteer doctors at saka mamimigay kami ng free medicines, free vitamins just to make sure everybody stays healthy," she disclosed.
As of this writing, the GMA Kapuso Foundation was able to give help to over 36,000 individuals affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.
