GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rikki Escudero-Catibog was honored at the 2020 Rotary Golden Wheel Awards held last January 25 in Quezon City.

Escudero-Catibog, who was among the twelve awardees for this year, was given the Golden Wheel under the Corporate Social Responsibility category for her “significant service to the community and the nation that resulted in the improvement of the lives of Filipinos.” 

 

As the head of GMA Network’s socio-civic arm, she spearheaded the execution of some of GMAKF’s pioneering projects for 2019 such as the Rebuild Marawi Project where they constructed and rehabilitated three elementary schools in Marawi City (20 classrooms and 40 comfort rooms in total) and the Kapuso Tulay Para sa Kaunlaran project where they built the foundation’s first two  bridges in Mindanao – the first bridge in Paquibato, Davao City and the second, in Naawan-Manticao, Misamis Oriental.

The Golden Wheel Awards is presented by the Quezon City government and the Rotary Club International District 3780. It recognizes outstanding non-Rotarians who best exemplify the Rotary spirit of “Service above self” and the guiding principles of the Rotary’s Four Way Test.
