Benilde hoping to have Migs Oczon back in time for EAC clash | NCAA Philippines

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde head coach Charles Tiu is keeping his fingers crossed that his sniper Migs Oczon can be cleared to play in their game against Emilio Aguinaldo College this Saturday.

Tiu shared that Oczon, who missed their last two outings, is still in quarantine despite testing negative for COVID-19 after showing mild symptoms several days ago.

"To be honest, that's why I'm upset. Our doctors have cleared him, actually negative naman siya the last two days na he's not feeling anything, he's been fine," said Tiu following their 84-72 win over Arellano University on Wednesday.

"But I guess they said he has to quarantine for seven, eight days, I don't know. We were really hoping he could play today, he really wanted to play but we just followed the rules."

Oczon was out of Benilde in their win against University of Perpetual Help System DALTA last Tuesday. But even without one of their top gunners, the Blazers were still able to pull off an 81-64 win over the Altas.

His services, though, were missed when Benilde lost to Colegio de San Juan de Letran, especially as Oczon is their second-leading scorer with an average of 14.67 points.

But Tiu is hoping to have Oczon back in their clash against the Generals this Saturday, saying they have to be complete against a winless EAC side that's eager to barge into the win column.

"I'm thankful we won the game. He's fine, actually he can't wait to go. Hopefully, (in the) next game he'll be there."
