NCAA denies Letran's appeal on Fran Yu suspension | NCAA Philippines

The National Collegiate Athletic Association denied Colegio de San Juan de Letran's appeal to lift the suspension of veteran guard Fran Yu in Game 3 of the Season 98 Finals.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the league ruled to deny the suspension on the following grounds:

"a. There was no new evidence presented by CSJL as required by the NCAA rules to lift the suspension and

b. CSJL did not contest the judgment call of the game officials."

Yu was ejected from Game 2 of the Finals after being slapped with a disqualifying foul due to an incident with Benilde's Mark Sangco.

With the decision, Letran will play without Yu in the clincher on Sunday, and the 24-year old guard has officially played his last collegiate career game.

Game 3 of the Finals will be aired on GMA and GTV and streamed online in GMA Sports and NCAA Philippines pages on December 18 at 3 pm.
