Gilas Pilipinas captain Jimmy Alapag put together one of his best performances in the Asian Games on Saturday, scoring 25 points in the Philippines' heartbreaking 97-95 loss to South Korea.

He fouled out after missing a crucial three-pointer in the dying seconds of the game, and was caught by television cameras in tear on the way to the dugout after the final buzzer sounded.

Gilas fans were quick to offer sympathy for the Mighty Mouse, who was supposed to retire from international league but responded to the call of duty to play for the country one last time.
