Ayon sa legalzoon.com: “This agreement can set forth what will happen to your and your spouse's assets and income in the unfortunate event of divorce, separation or death.

“Most importantly, a prenuptial agreement can preserve the nature of property in the event the marriage ends.

“In other words, separate property can remain separate, instead of being subject to community property or equitable distribution laws.”

“The idea of it, of course, well… concept of it, you need it for practicality reasons, just to be sure,” simula ni Carla nang matanong ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa pocket presscon niya nitong March 5, Huwebes.

“But then, dapat hindi, because you should believe in your marriage, in your unity na hindi kayo aabot sa point na maghihiwalay kayo, and you have to separate all your assets.

“I guess it’s a topic that is, until today, being tackled by everyone, kasi nga medyo ano ‘yan, e, it’s a really big issue.”

"Not because you don’t want to believe in your marriage, and that you want to doubt your marriage, that it will end up in separation one day.

"But because, siguro po, personally, coming from a broken family, I know what it’s like to be there, to be a single mom.

“Kumbaga, it’s just one way for a woman as well to protect herself, just in case things don’t work well in the marriage.”
