2019 National Trade Fair ‘Green Show’ to feature eco-friendly products

The Department of Trade and Industry-Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (DTI-BDTP), in coordination with the DTI Regional Operations Group, will be staging the 2019 National Trade Fair from August 22 to 25 at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. 

Featuring 250 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from all over the country, the annual four-day retail and order-taking event will showcase products such as furniture and furnishings, houseware and decor, wearables and fashion accessories, gifts and souvenirs, as well as heirloom food, and health and wellness products. 

Billed as “A Green Show,” the 2019 National Trade Fair gives preference to exhibitors whose products are green, organic, and eco-friendly. The aim of this initiative is to encourage MSMEs to engage in green practices that promote efficient use of energy and resources. 

Special settings will include:

• the Green Pavilion in partnership with DTI-Laguna and the Association of Laguna Food Processors (ALAFOP);
• the Living Green Pavilion of Design Center of the Philippines;

• the Holiday Decor Pavilion of the Philippine Homestyle and Holiday Decor Associaton; and
• the Marawi Showcase in cooperation with DTI-Region 10.

The event will also feature a Furniture and Furnishings Showcase as well as crowd favorites like the OTOP Hub, the Leather Crafting Workshop, and the Kapetirya. 

Another unique feature of the 2019 National Trade Fair is a special promotion by Monteverde Sewing Machine Inc. in which fair- goers can sew their own eco bag on-site.

Customers may also get a free eco bag in exchange for waste materials, such as 1.5L PET bottles, magazines and newspapers, assorted PET bottles, and foil packs, which will be donated to the following beneficiaries: Liter of Light, Gifts and Graces Foundation, Envirotech Waste Recycling, Inc., and the Villar Sipag at Tiyaga Foundation, Inc.

The 2019 National Trade Fair is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on August 22-25, 2019. Admission is free.
