Top Korean gov’t official to open Korea-PHL Infrastructure Forum 2019 on Sept. 6


The Hon. Kim Hyun-mee, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea (MOLIT), will formally open the Korea-Philippines Infrastructure Forum 2019 at the Makati Shangri-la on Friday, September 6th.

The event, which is hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, in cooperation with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr), is intended to be a sharing experience between the Governments of Korea and the Philippines to encourage more investment.

 

 

Representatives from the Philippines will talk about the development plans for infrastructure and transportation, including the new Manila International Airport, while Korean speakers will discuss Korea’s Intelligent Transport Society (ITS Korea), railway development as a track to economic growth, and the Incheon Smart Airport.

Around 100 Filipino and Korean stakeholders, including members of the business community, are expected to participate in the forum.

Prior to this, Minister Kim will hold bilateral talks with the Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar and Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade to discuss how to further enhance the partnership between the two countries, especially during this 70th year anniversary of the establishment of Korea-Philippines diplomatic relations.
