Google allows commenting on Google+ posts from Gmail
Busy users of Google’s social network Google+ can now respond to their friends’ Google+ posts directly from the notifications in their Gmail inboxes. Software engineer Zohair Hyder said the Google+ notification emails on Gmail will be completely interactive, at least on desktop computers for now. “You can view, comment on, and +1 posts from inside your inbox. Your comments appear in the Google+ stream in real-time, and responses from others instantly appear in Gmail, as part of the notification message,” Hyder said. Google+ users can also reply to notifications from a mobile device (and/or POP or IMAP client), Hynder added. They can open the notification email about the post they are interested in, and look for the new prompt, “Reply to this email.” “Tap reply, send your comment, and we’ll automatically add it to the ongoing Google+ conversation. Even if you don’t use Gmail, you can still reply-by-email from many different services,” Hyder said. Moreover, Hyder said Google is now rolling out all of these features over the next week to users who have upgraded to Google+. — LBG, GMA News
