Inday Sara admits 'schadenfreude' after Mariel De Leon bows out of Miss International
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte revealed having a "schadenfreude moment" after Philippines bet Mariel De Leon bowed out early in the Miss International 2017 beauty pageant.
Inday Sara shared her thoughts in a Facebook post on Tuesday after Mariel failed to make it to the final 15 in the competition.
"Meron ako personal experience sa kanya, but I’m too tired to make kwento. I believe pageant judges see through the physical beauty and examine the heart. Para bang Ms. Venezuela sa Ms. Universe 2016. Parang ganyan. This is a schadenfreude moment for me. Sa binisaya pa, ang gabà di gyud magsabà," Inday Sara wrote on the post.
"Schadenfreude" is a German word meaning enjoyment derived from another person's failure.
Mariel had been vocal about controversial issues such as fake news, and has even had several exchanges with Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson over her views. —JST, GMA News
