Korean, Chinese tourists brawl over sailboat ride in Boracay

Two foreign tourists brawled over a sailboat ride in Boracay Island last week.

In a video post on Facebook by Ariel Gad, the South Korean and Chinese tourists are seen rolling on the white sand of the famous island resort during their brawl.

A report on Unang Balita said that according to Gad, both tourists had an argument over who should get a paraw ride first.

Paraw sailing, a double outrigger sailboat, is a famous activity in the island resort.

The video was posted by Gad on Facebook on April 12.

The island is set to be closed for a six-month government rehabilitation starting April 26.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) had announced that tourists who are already in Boracay before the closure can stay until the end of their booking.

It assured tourists that they will not be forced to leave the island. It, however, said booking extensions will not be allowed.

President Rodrigo Duterte approved the island's closure based on the recommendation of the DOT and departments of Environment and Natural Resources and Interior and Local Government.

The three agencies came up with the recommendation weeks after Duterte said Boracay has become as "cesspool." —ALG, GMA News/
