DFA Chief on the alleged immigration mess of a Fil-Am actor: 'Just deport him'

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said that celebrity Tony Labrusca should be deported for allegedly shouting at immigration officers on Thursday because of an issue with his visa.

"Just deport him," Locsin said in a tweet after a netizen's narration of the incident reached the online radar of the Foreign Affairs chief.

A certain netizen @brandonbrandonmendoza demanded the actor to apologize to immigration officers for supposedly yelling at them and calling them idiots for giving him a visa that is only valid for 30 days.

The Glorious star, for his part, also came forward on social media Friday to apologize and air his side of the story.

"I want to extend my sincerest apology to the superior Immigration Officer (I.O.) who was on duty and I had a talk with yesterday morning, 03 January 2019," Tony said in Twitter.

He admitted that after a long flight from Canada, he regretfully let his emotions get the better of him upon learning that he was only given 30 days to stay in the Philippines.

Tony also acknowledged that he was unaware that he does not qualify for a Balikbayan stamp because his mother was not traveling with him.

"I'm sorry that I somehow took my frustrations out at the Officer. But never did I ever call anyone stupid, nor an idiot much less brag about being a celebrity," the actor said. — LA, GMA News
