As the country battles the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), these garbage collectors in Meycauayan, Bulacan continue working to keep the environment clean.
"Mga dakilang basurero sana naman tignan din niyo kami, frontliner din kami," Juan Encinares Balaguer said in a Facebook post.
He said they are now only working half day to avoid getting infected with the virus, and that they wear masks and gloves while performing their duties.
As of Wednesday, the Philippines has reported 2,311 COVID-19 cases, 96 deaths, and 50 recoveries.
Luzon has been under enhanced community quarantine since March 17, in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus.
