Robert Downey Jr. promises heroic young boy a surprise better than Captain America's shield

Robert Downey Jr. is the latest Avenger to get in touch with the young boy in Wyoming who saved his sister from a dog attack.

Six-year-old Bridger Walker had to get 90 stitches for his courageous act, and he has been getting surprise after surprise from his favorite superheroes.

Just yesterday, Chris Evans sent him a video message telling him that he is giving him an authentic Captain America shield

for his bravery.

Not to be outdone, Robert sent him a video message too, which was shared by Bridger's aunt Nikki Walker on Instagram.

"Bridger, you're a rockstar," the actor said. "My name is Robert Downy Jr., I played Tony, makes me an old friend of Cap's."

"I hear he sent a shield your way. I'm going to do you one better, you phone me on your next birthday. I got something special for you," he added.

Robert was tight-lipped about the surprise, but said it beats a shield.

"By the way, that's a promise, a promise beats a shield," he said.

Bridger's aunt said they just celebrated his birthday "not too long ago" so it will be a while before they find out about the surprise.

Aside from Chris and Robert, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland also called Bridger and praised him for saving his little sister.

He extended an invitation for Bridger to visit the Spider-Man 3 set when they start filming.
