Kind cops buy everything from girl selling sitaw in Cam Sur

Kind-hearted police officers did not hesitate to buy everything from a little girl selling string beans in Pili, Camarines Sur.

According to Mark Salazar's report on "24 Oras," the girl sat alone with the vegetables placed on a sack by the roadside when the police spotted her.

The officers decided to purchase all of the string beans so that the girl can go home, as children are not allowed outdoors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Kumbaga aalis na siya dun sa kalsada, para mawala 'yung risk na para sa ibang masasamang tao o kung sino mang mag-isip ng masama," said Police Lt. Col. Bogard Arao.

They took the girl home via the police mobile to make sure that she got back safely.

The police are also planning to support the child's educational needs so she does not have to sell vegetables on the road again.

"Naisip ng kapulisan na bibigyan pa rin natin ng attention 'yung nasa pag-aaral niya kung saka-sakaling kailangan niya," Arao said.

In Butuan City, meanwhile, police gave away shoes to help other people amid the pandemic. 

"Kailangan bigyan ang mga nangangailangan gaya ng mga street vendor. Ikalawa diyan sa pamilya, at pupunta kami sa mga malalayong barangay," said Police Staff Sergeant Mark Divinagracia. —MGP, GMA News
