Michael V creates 'Torpedo' parody inspired by viral lugaw incident

Michael V created a new parody inspired by the viral incident last week over the delivery of "lugaw" or rice porridge amid the enhanced community quarantine.

In his YouTube vlog, the Kapuso comedy genius sang a song titled "Essential Lang," a parody of the Eraserheads' 1995 hit "Torpedo."

Bitoy changed the lyrics of the song to recount what happened to the Grab rider who was barred from delivering lugaw in Bulacan.

"Tubig, gatas lang atsaka groceries ina-allow ng korte, ang lugaw ay hindi," the song goes.

("Only water, milk, and groceries are allowed by the court, porridge is not.")

The line references the position of the barangay authorities encountered by the Grab rider, who was repeatedly told that porridge is non-essential.

Under the ECQ, only activities involving essential goods and services are allowed to operate beyond curfew hours.

Malacanang later issued a statement that porridge is an essential good just like any other food item and the delivery of such must "remain unhampered 24/7."
