Swifties thank Kelly Clarkson for urging Taylor Swift to re-record her songs back in 2019

Swifties thanked Kelly Clarkson as they remember a 2019 tweet from her urging Taylor Swift to re-record her songs facing a legal battle on ownership.

In the post, Kelly suggested for Taylor to “re-record all the songs that [she doesn’t] own.”

“Exactly how [you] did them but put brand new art and some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions,” she wrote.

“I’d buy all of the new versions just to prove a point,” she added.

Fast forward to 2021 and Taylor did exactly that. She released a new version of her “Fearless” album, which contained the hits “Love Story” and “Fifteen.”

Swifties couldn't help but praise Kelly, whom they credit as the person who started it all. Her two-year-old tweet has gotten so many replies and quote tweets of fans thanking her for being a “legend.”

“Everyone needs to thank @kellyclarkson for manifesting this into existence because #FearlessTaylorsVersion is just the beginning,” one fan said.

“Everything came true beginning four days ago. We stan legends supporting legends. Bless Queen Kelly for a long and healthy life,” another added.

As of writing, Kelly's tweet now has more than 22,000 retweets, nearly 5,000 quote tweets, and more than 135,000 likes.
