Erwan Heussaff gets cheers for Maginhawa community pantry donation

Erwan Heussaff has received praises from social media users as information spread that he donated USD$2,000 or around PHP96,000 to the Maginhawa community pantry.

On Thursday, a Twitter user named @juswatiyan shared supposed screenshots of the PayPal fundraising effort of Pauline Non, sister of Ana Patricia Non, the organizer of the pantry.

One of the screen shots displayed the celebrity vlogger’s name and beside it, the amount USD$2,000.

“I just need to mention this celeb guy who silently supported this cause. Mabuhay ang mga organizers ng mga community pantries!” the Twitter user wrote.

[Long live to the organizers of community pantries!]

Erwan, however, had not confirmed nor said anything about the donation.

On Wednesday, Patricia’s mother Zena Bernardo shared that her US-based daughter Pauline launched a fundraising project to pool resources and “provide support to organizers, volunteers and advocates of community pantries in the Philippines in response to the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The campaign’s initial goal was to reach $5,000, but as of writing, it had received more than $20,000.

After the fundraiser reached its limit, the organizers launched a second one. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
