Netizens help injured dog who was hit on the head

Netizens have extended help to an injured dog who was hit on the head by a still unidentified person.

According to Bernadette Reyes’ “24 Oras” report, Sunday, the public’s hearts were captured when the dog’s owner, Ruffa Mae Rellon, shared what happened on TikTok.

In the video, her stepfather is seen hugging their dog Brython after discovering a lump on the dog’s head which continued to grow over time.

“My dad is crying because our dog was hit on the head, making it swell. The person who did this has no heart,” she wrote in Filipino.

According to Ruffa Mae, they weren’t able to do anything at first because they lack money.

After posting the video, it earned over 300,000 views and has gotten lots of attention from the public, some of whom offered donations so Brython can be checked by a veterinarian.

With the Animal Kingdom Foundation and netizens’ help, Brython was brought to the doctor last Thursday.

According to the veterinarian, Brython needs surgery which costs a lot of money. In the meantime, he was given medicine to ease the pain.

“If the lump doesn’t heal, we need to go back. He will be put to sleep then they will suck the pus from his wound inside,” Ruffa Mae explained.

Brython was injured after going out one night. According to Ruffa Mae, they always allow the dog to go out because he knows how to go home.

To prevent accidents like this, the Animal Kingdom Foundation reminded owners to be responsible for their pets.

“Don’t let them go out alone so they won’t be in an accident because they might be abused by other people,” said Christian Bondoc, lead volunteer at the Animal Kingdom Foundation. Franchesca Viernes/DVM, GMA News
