Ychan Laurenz on new #eLeksyonSerye video: 'Hindi lahat nang nagvi-viral, totoo'

Ychan Laurenz is serving hard truths on the #eLeksyonSerye videos from GMA News and Public Affairs.

In the latest outing, Ychan got into a discussion with his classmate Cheska after Cheska declared there was no classes and said she got the news on TikTok, from a video that already had  1 million views.

Ychan refuted her by showing a GMA News' news story.

"Eh bat hindi ko yan nakita?" Cheska asked.

"Kung anu-ano kasi pina-follow mo eh," Ychan said. "Sa totoo lang tayo." 

While Cheska continued to make a case — "Kung totoo, dapat viral na yan," she said — Ychan shut her down with an enlightened answer: "Hindi lahat nang nagvi-viral, totoo."

To back his claim, Ychan explained further how social media algorithms work.

"Kung puro fake news ang nila-like at pina-follow mo, puro fake news talaga ang makikita mo sa social media" Ychan said.

#eLeksyonServe is a series of voter education videos starring Tiktok sensation Ychan Laurenz.

Previously, Ychan gave tips on how to respectfully talk to to relatives prone to share fake news. He also gave a golden nugget of wisdom: “Hindi porket sinabi ng kumare mo, totoo na."
