Using art to stop violence against women in ‘Only Women Bleed 2’

Over 50 artists are taking a stand for women's rights and representation in "Only Women Bleed 2," this time in partnership with women's rights group Gabriela.

A portion of the sales from art sold at the exhibit will be donated to the organization's campaigns and programs to stop violence against women and children.

Performance art by Joanna Lerio with Boyet and Rica de Mesa, Gry Gimena, Gina Luz Francisco, Louie Eslao, Arlene de Castro-Anonuevo, and Jeanette Kamphuis were staged on March 18, opening night.

The artists will return to perform again on closing night, March 25. A forum on the state of women in the country will also be held.

"Only Women Bleed" was first staged by Linangan ng Kulturang Pilipino and Pinoy Na Pinoy Visual Artists Association Incorporated in 2016. All the participating artists in both exhibits are women.

"Only Women Bleed 2" runs until March 25 at Sikat Events Place at Tomas Morato, Quezon City. —ALG, GMA News
