Gilda Cordero-Fernando passes away at 90

Beloved cultural icon Gilda Cordero-Fernando passed away on Thursday morning, August 27. She was 90.

Her son Mol Fernando shared the unfortunate news on Facebook saying, "We will miss her dearly and love her always."

Posting a link of Fernando 2012 reportage of her own wake, Mol said the writer, artist, fashion designer, publisher and producer "held her own wake earlier thus, there will be no need for funeral services."

Chavez, the incredible Pinoy Pop Culture published by Bench/Suyen Corp. As a publisher, she produced the "History of the Burgis."

"With GCF, you dine on history and drink imagination, feeding a grand addiction to being Pinoy," read a line off GMA News Online's profile on Cordero-Fernando published a month after she turned 80.
