Andrea Meza is glamorous in her official portrait as Miss Universe

Andrea Meza posed for her official portrait as the new Miss Universe queen shortly after being crowned.

On Instagram, the Miss Universe Organization shared photos of Andrea Meza clad in her red evening gown with the Diamond Crown perched on her head.

The Mexican beauty queen was crowned by Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on May 16 (May 17 in Philippine time).

During the final Q&A, Meza was asked: "If you were the leader of your country. How would you have handled COVID-19 pandemic?"

She answered:

I believe there's not a perfect way to handle this for situations, such as COVID-19. However, I believe that what I would have done was create a lockdown even before everything was that big. Because we lost so many lives and we cannot afford that. We have to take care of our people. That's why I would have taken care of them since the beginning.

For her Final Word, Meza shared the following message as translated by an interpreter.

Nowadays, beauty isn't only the way we look. For me, beauty radiates not only in our spirit, but in our hearts and in the way that we conduct ourselves. Never permit someone to tell you that you're not valuable. Thank you.

According to her introduction video, Andrea who is a software engineer by profession lives in a city called Chihuahua where she is the tourism ambassador.

Andrea said she grew up in a big family and has 40 cousins and two sisters.

Brazil's Julia Gama placed as the 1st runner-up, Peru's Janick Maceta del Castillo as the 2nd runner-up, India's Adline Castelino as the 3rd runner-up, and Dominican Republic's Kimberly Jimenez as the 4th runner-up.
