Miss World PHL Tracy Perez recalls journey toward the crown, mentions falling on stage twice and laughs

Gotta love a person who can laugh at herself.

Newly crowned Miss World Philippines Tracy Perez took to social media to recall winning the pageant. "It still hasn’t fully sunk in yet," she admitted on Instagram Friday afternoon.

Tracy says she's "still not used to everything especially when I get to wear my sash and crown and introduced as Miss World Philippines," despite how busy her schedule has become.

The beauty queen mentioned juggling her recovery, working two jobs, and too many interviews and appearances — "especially after falling twice," she wrote complete with a laughing emoji.

In the first of three IG posts, Tracy said despite her life changing overnight, she is "still the same simple Bisaya girl with big dreams and a humble yet brave heart that does not give up."

Tracy shared going through hardships "all through my life."

"I’ve been criticized, looked down upon, judged, called names, made fun of and so many other things. I’ve also fell down so many times in life, doubted myself, and gave up, even hated my life at times. I would even ask myself why does everything, every aspect of my life, have to be so difficult for me," she wrote.

But having realized it was her life, no matter how difficult, Tracy said she needed "to embrace every single bit of it and take charge."

"Now, I am here and I can finally say I made it, we made it," she continued.

"The seemingly impossible circumstances became possible for us and this might be a good sign that the elusive Blue Crown will finally be ours for the taking," Tracy wrote as she asked her followers to "join me in this fight."

"I will stop at nothing to bring pride and honor to our country and to us Filipinos because when life pushes us back, that is when we fight harder. Laban, mahal kong Pilipinas," she said.

Tracy of Cebu City was crowned Miss World Philippines earlier this month. Shortly after winning, she slipped on stage twice. But no matter, her grace at handling the situation tells us she's more than ready to represent the Philippines in the international competition to be held in Puerto Rico in December. — LA, GMA News
