Steve Harvey won't be hosting Miss Universe anymore as pageant will reportedly have a new female host

Changes are afoot in the Miss Universe Organization, it seems.

The latest? Steve Harvey won't be returning as Miss Universe host.

Citing Miss Universe Organization CEO Amy Emmerich, Variety reports

the beauty pageant will have "a new host — expected to be a female — [to] be announced in the coming weeks."

“My goal was really to make sure we led with a female lens this next go-around,” Emmerich said. “We should hopefully have that to talk about soon… It was a rare opportunity to be able to kind of restart in a whole new place.”

Steve hosted the pageant for five years as part of Miss Universe's deal with FOX channel.

With the end of the deal, Miss Universe will also make the move to streaming, to Roku Channel in particular, Variety said.

This is the latest shakeup in the organization after Thai media mogul Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip bought the Miss Universe pageant in October this year.

After announcing Miss Columbia as the winner, Steve admitted his mistake and corrected himself seconds later, proclaiming Miss Philippines Pia Wurztbach as the rightful winner. — LA, GMA Integrated News
