In the spotlight: words on the jeep!

(SPOT.ph) “God knows hudas not pay.” “Basta Driver Sweet Laber.” “Katas ng Saudi.” These are popular lines that we’ve picked up from the ever infamous jeep. As we celebrate Buwan ng Wika, we look at some funny, witty word play on jeeps that not only entertain and engage but also proudly showcase Filipino wit, humor, and ultimately culture. Judging from this language play, jeeps don’t just transport commuters from point A to point B. They are also carriers of our language. It is assuring to see that the Filipino language is alive and well and kicking. Mabuhay ang Wikang Filipino!
