Everyone was in a chatty mood outside the Republiq Superclub in Pasay City last November 15, 2012. The queue snaked by with people gussied up in their party best, waiting to get inside the club for SM Accessories' latest holiday fashion collection and the unveiling of the mysterious Supreme Four.

Inside, the hall was dark though still in a party mood. Assistance was given, and directions to a table fortunately close to the fashion runway were followed. The spot was strategic; the fashion items were to be seen up close.

The chattering has become more distinct; forecasts as who will be the latest SM Accessories' endorsers are made. But it all politely dies down as the first thump of house music playing full volume marked the start of the fashion show.

The collection

The models entered the runway, haloed by bright green lights. The first model, in a ready to wear outfit, entered the runway styled with gold and black chain necklaces followed by other models dressed similarly.

This was followed by cool and hip street style clothes and accessories for men. The first male model strutted his way on the ramp dressed in an urban glam ensemble complete with an Aztec print scarf, watch, leather bracelets, and two belts. The outift was well appreciated as the crowd started to cheer and applaud.

After a series of wearable pieces for men, female models looking demure and risque at the same time entered the runway. They were styled with futuristic-like hairstyles, long dresses with deep necklines, and all-over-the-place accessories.

SM Accessories presented a collection that fit different styles, from simple to adventurous. It played from urban, classy formal, to the party goer in palettes of green, blue, and red.

Their Holiday collection consisted of gold and black bracelets, belt chains, chunky gold necklaces with large stones in different hues, and gold and silver metal detachable collars in floral and tribal embroidery designs.

The collection is fascinating in that individual pieces can play different roles and personalities when worn. With colors and different prints and patterns, the wearer can look different even with the simplest clothes.

The Supreme Four

As the runway show ended, dancers made their entrance and introduced the Supreme Four. Branded as the four "fashion accessories authority" of the country, the media personalities were introduced at the event as SM Accessories' latest endorsers.

The first to be introduced was model and actor Xian Lim, a real crowd-pleaser given his charm and incredible good looks.

He was in an urban rocker outfit with a faux leather jacket, gray shirt with a skeleton print, black skinny jeans, and biker boots. Completing the look were his accessories: a printed bandana wrapped around his neck, a bohemian scarf, and leather bracelets. He also had a brown and black ethnic print backpack and a brown fedora.

The second of the four Supremes was introduced amid dimmed lights and sassy female dancers. It was gorgeous model and host Georgina Wilson, who entered at the end of the runway.

Wilson wore a daring, high-slitted, red velvet dress with black tulle accents. Complementing her look, and styling her in sophistication was a gold necklace, chunky gold bangles, and nude pumps.

Next up with the beating of drums was GMA star Richard Gutierrez, who elicited screams from all the ladies present at the event.

He was styled in a formal ensemble— black blazer, crisp button up, a silver watch, dress pants, pointed loafers, printed knit scarf, and a leather office bag.

After Gutierrez, there was long pause for the last Supreme to be introduced. All that could be seen on the stage were the dancers circling around a big, Barbie doll-like box.

After a few dance moves, the box was shredded and actress Anne Curtis stepped out. She smiled her way down the runway, waving at the crowd who were ecstatic to see her.

Curtis was dressed in a backless, black gown and matching pair of black stilettos. She was accessorized with a statement necklace, three black and gold bangles, and a black cocktail ring.

“It's truly an honor for me, it's an opportunity for me to reach out to all the people there who's into fashion and to all the guys who are fashion forward,” said Gutierrez.

Wilson, who considers herself  a “fashion chameleon,” said she prefers SM Accessories because they present different designs and styles that are perfect for her style.

According to Curtis, she is the “spunky one” among the Supremes. "I think it's my personality and they see that I'm someone who could actually wear accessories everyday because of the TV shows. And I just naturally really love [accessories] and people know that.” — DVM, GMA News
