After a popular coffee chain started giving out planners after every 20th cup of coffee, people started seeing the potential of planners as more than just a plain old datebook that the office gives away during the holidays. Nowadays, there are planners that include coupons for everything from coffee to waxing salons. Some have their own doodle artillery of colored pens and stickers, while others have secret pockets to hold receipts or little love notes. According to book store manager Rowena Perez in a report on GMA News TV's "Balitanghali," they used to sell only simple organizers. But now, different kinds of planners are available to meet all kinds of needs. Perez showed as an example a planner made especially for moms, which has pages that allow them to record their expenses, note activities for their kids, and even save photographs. Aside from mom-specific planners, there are also planners for frequent travelers, which include provisions for a bucket list as well as inspiring travel quotes. There are also planners with lots of blank spaces for chronic doodlers, planners with shopping coupons, a period tracker, and a wardrobe checker for the girly girls, planners with reading lists for bookworms, and planners with all kinds of features for just about everyone else. With so many planners to choose from, it is important to set your priorities in deciding which planner to get. Some people prioritize size and look for planners that are easy to bring around, while others prefer planners that have witty quotes. For student Angel Britanico, she wants a planner that expresses her personality. For her, a planner is not only a datebook that allows her to organize her activities, but also a diary where she chronicles her day to day life. — Amanda Lago/KBK, GMA News
