Eraserheads reuniting? Men's magazine teases Pinoy 'Fab Four' event

Will the legendary Eraserheads play another show on local shores?

Men's magazine Esquire Philippines is teasing an appearance of the local "Fab Four" at the launch of its Travel Issue on September 4.

When asked whether the Eraserheads were reuniting, Esquire Philippines managing editor Jerome Gomez told GMA News Online: "I heard. :)"

The magazine's editor-in-chief Erwin Romulo was more coy when asked whether the Eraserheads would play at the event, replying simply with: "Surprise. :)"

Composed of Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala, the Eraserheads are the group behind '90s hits "Pare Ko," "Ang Huling El Bimbo" and "Alapaap," just to name a few. But the band broke up in 2002 shortly after the departure of Buendia, the band's vocalist and lead songwriter.

They reunited in 2008 for a concert that was cut short because of Buendia's health issues. The Eraserheads haven't played a show in the Philippines since "The Final Set" concert in 2009, which drew more than a hundred thousand people at the Mall of Asia grounds.

The group, however, has been taking on international tour dates in the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and the United Kingdom since 2012. — JST, GMA News
