While hydrocephalus has confined Glaizel Lasa to a wheelchair, she remains excited to start classes June 1, GMA Dagupan's Joyce Segui reported.

Lasa, a resident of Barangay Tebag in Mangaldan town in Pangasinan, was born with hydrocephalus, a condition that left her blind and weak.

"Magsusulat ako ng ABC," she said when asked what she expects from school, adding she is ready to recite the alphabet and to count.

Her mother Maricel said Glaizel wants to use what she learned once she grows up.

Glaizel will be part of the special education classes of Mangaldan Integrated School.
