Top picks for Binibining Pilipinas 2018 emerge in pageant forums

Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray is ahead of the competition as a fan favorite to win Binibining Pilipinas 2018.

Pageant forums Missosology Philippines and Sashes&Scripts both predict that Catriona is poised to represent the country in the Miss Universe pageant.

"She's the complete package: she can walk, talk, and sing! She's has the heart and the dedication, too," Missosology Philippines shared on their Instagram account.

Jesson Capuchino of Sashes&Scripts, however, didn't rule out surprises. "She (Catriona) cannot be complacent though because the game might still throw a left hook from out of nowhere," he wrote in his blog.

Beauty from Bacolod, Dr. Ena Velasco, is on both lists with Sashes&Scripts placing her at 5th and Missosology predicting that she might be crowned Miss International Philippines.

According to Missosology Philippines, "Ena has been slowly building momentum, and who knows she might become the finals night's biggest surprise. She has the impressive academic background that former Bb Pilipinas queens have."

Their advice? "Ditch the heavy make-up" and serve some natural beauty.

Another favorite for both forums is Vickie Marie Rushton, formerly Mutya ng Pilipinas 2011. Sashes&Scripts predicts that it will be Vickie who will win the Miss International Philippines crown. "You just can’t deny that gorgeous face," Capuchino wrote.

Missosology Philippines' prediction concurred, though they ranked her third. "We think her doll-like features are best suited for the Miss International pageant."

Volleyball star Michelle Gumabao is part of the hot picks, but in the lower spectrum at 5th for Missosology Philippines and 6th for Sashes&Scripts.

Capuchino gave her credit for having "presence of mind" when the dogs she had brought with her for the talent competition didn't cooperate.

The 2018 Binibining Pilipinas coronation night will be held on March 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. — LA, GMA News
