Catriona Gray on Miss Universe win: Today, my mother’s dream came true

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray made a heartfelt pilot social media post as the holder of the most prestigious crown in the universe.

Today marks the fulfillment of her mother's dream, she said.

"When I was 13, my mum told me 'Honey, I dreamt of you winning Miss Universe in a red dress.' At that time I thought nothing of it, and today my mother's dream came true," she said in her official Facebook page.

Indeed, Catriona wore the crown today in a flaming red gown.

Catriona humbly thanked God for her victory.

"Lord God, I lift everything up to you — to glorify and honour you," she said.

The Filipino-Australian beauty queen also proudly lifted the name of the country she represented.

"Philippines, what an amazing honor it has been to carry your name across my chest and to embody you in all aspects," she said. "I may now carry the sash of Miss Universe, but I'll forever be your Miss Philippines.

Cat also gratefully mentioned the names of the people behind her glam team whose time, effort, and love she has greatly appreciated.

Catriona Gray is the fourth Filipina to win the Miss Universe title. —NB, GMA News
