Miss Vietnam spends Valentine's Day with Miss USA in New York

Miss Universe USA 2018 Sarah Rose Summers made it up to H'Hen Nie, Vietnam's Miss Universe 2018, after a not-so-smooth start during the pageant in December last year, by hosting her fellow beauty queen during her visit to the United States on Valentine's Day.

In an Instagram post, H'Hen said she spent Valentine's Day in New York City with Summers.

"What a wonderful Valentine's Day with my loved sis @sarahrosesummers," she said.

According to the post, the Vietnamese beauty queen was able to immerse herself in one of the most popular cities in the world with her team and Summers. Aside from that, H'Hen mentioned she was able to have a chat with Miss Universe Australia 2018, Francesca Hung.

"I had so much fun and happy meeting my smiling sis in New York. Thank you Sarah for such a meaningful day in NYC with me and my team: watching the sunset in the ferry, taking the subway, chatting with @francesca.hung, enjoying Vietnamese food, giving roses and together pray for the victims of 9-11 terror," she said.

She added, "Thank you very much Sarah for these wonderful moments and see you soon in Vietnam."

Before meeting Summers, H'Hen visited Miss Universe Catriona Gray, who is based in New York.  The two attended Tran Phuong’s fashion show at the New York fashion week.

H'Hen landed in the Top 5 during the competition.

Controversy erupted earlier on in the pageant when a video was made public showing Summers seeming to mock H'Hen and Miss Cambodia for not speaking English.

Summers immediately issued an apology to the two beauty queens. —Kaela Malig/ LDF, GMA News
