Mother and daughter walk from Pulilan to Plaridel in Bulacan to feed strays

A mother and daughter have been feeding stray cats and dogs in Bulacan amid the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

But to do this, the pair had to walk for hours from Pulilan to Plaridel, dragging heavy bags of food under the sun.

Jhec Victoria shared that she and her mom were already making sure the strays in the area were fed even before the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat.

“Hindi po namin ito first time mag stray feeding, pero dahil po sa krisis na dumadaan na ito, sinisikap po talaga namin ng nanay ko na araw-araw ay mahatiran namin sila ng pagkain at inumin," she said.

Jhec wanted to point out that residents receive relief from the government but stray cats and dogs had to live off scraps.

Jhec admitted that the work was exhausting, but they had to keep coming back as the animals had nobody else to care for them.

Earlier, a Cebu resident also earned netizens' praise for giving food and water to stray dogs in the Mandaue Reclamation area even with the entire province under enhanced community quarantine.
