Artists paint mural of 'Darna' in medical uniform as tribute to frontliners

A group of artists have painted a mural of Darna with a twist.

On the wall of a condo in Quezon City, the Filipina superhero could be seen dressed in scrubs and face mask with a stethoscope hanging around her neck.

The mural was done by the Art Atak Team to celebrate the "superheroes" who are in the frontlines battling the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to AG Saño, they have been painting since last Wednesday and only finished the whole mural on Monday.

"Isang munting Art Attack regalo mula sa aming Art Atak Team upang magbigay pugay sa ating mga Frontliners. Salamat sa mga frontliners all over the world! #FrontLineHeroes," AG said in a Facebook post.

AG said a total of 24 hours was spent to finish the whole mural, the team having to stop on the day Typhoon Ambo hit Manila.

AG added that he thought of the idea a week before they started the project, and when they asked the admin of the said condo, they immediately agreed to the project when they saw the design.

In April, another Filipino artist sketched portraits of frontliner heroes who have fallen after battling COVID-19 in the country.
