Barbershops, salons open doors to customers in areas under MGCQ

Some barbershops and salons in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) have begun to open their doors to customers.

According to a report on "Unang Balita," a woman even travelled all the way from Minalabac, Camarines Sur to a salon in Naga City just to get her hair and a mani-pedi done.

Apart from the establishments in Naga, the report said barbershops and salons in Laoag, Ilocos Norte and Baybay, Leyte were also open on Tuesday.

Those in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, on the other hand, are set to do the same on June 7.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced last week that barbershops and salons in areas under MGCQ will be allowed to operate at 50% operating capacity.

Barbershops and salons in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ), on the other hand, will be allowed to operate at 30% operating capacity beginning June 7.
