One Direction breaks social media silence in time for 10th anniversary

It's One Direction's 10th anniversary, and they're here for it!

The phenomenal and now defunct band just broke their two-year social media silence  and hinted at something big to celebrate the occasion.

"You and me got a whole lot of history," they tweeted, referencing their hit song "History."

They also changed their Facebook profile picture after a whole five years.

The photo however, was still missing Zayn, who left the band in 2015.

One Direction was formed in 2010 when the five members, who entered "The X-Factor" as solo candidates, were grouped together to form a boy band. They signed with Simon Cowell's record label after placing third in the competition.

After Zayn's departure, remaining members Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne continued on as a four-piece collective to release what turned out to be their last album, "Made in the A.M." Later that year, they announced they were going on a hiatus.
