Upcoming film 'Over the Moon' drops lead single sung by Chinese-Filipina singer Cathy Ang

Netflix has given a glimpse of its upcoming animated film "Over the Moon" with the release of a lyric video for its lead track.

Sung by Filipino-Chinese singer and actress Cathy Ang, "Rocket to the Moon" introduces the main character Fei Fei and expresses her desire to, well, build a rocket and fly to the moon.

In the film, Fei Fei, fueled with determination and a passion for science, makes the impossible journey to prove the existence of a legendary Moon Goddess. There she ends up on an unexpected quest, and discovers a whimsical land of fantastical creatures.

The film is inspired by the Chinese mythological character Chang’e, the Chinese goddess of the moon.

"Over the Moon" is directed by animation legend Glen Keane, and produced by Gennie Rim and Peilin Chou.

It is set to premiere on Netflix on October 23. —JCB, GMA News
