Ajinomoto opens applications for 2022 postgraduate scholarship in Japan


Here's your chance to study in Japan!

The Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC) has opened applications for its 2022 postgraduate scholarship for those who wish to pursue higher education in the field of sciences.

The annual program will fully fund a student’s master’s degree at top universities in Japan, including the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Nagoya University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Ochanomizu University, Waseda University, and Kagawa Nutrition University.

“We invite Filipino students and graduates to seize this opportunity to learn from the top universities in Japan without having to worry about finances," said Roann Co, APC’s General Manager of Marketing and Public Relations in a statement.

"We believe in supporting local talents as future innovators because they help build innovations for wellness that will benefit the Filipino people,” he added.

The program has so far sent 11 Filipino scholars in the aforementioned prestigious universities.

APC said it will provide financial support for selected scholars for a maximum of three years. The grant will also provide full coverage of the following: two-way airfare, admission, tuition, and other costs such as Japanese language training and the student’s monthly allowance.

To apply, potential students must be a Filipino citizen under the age of 35 on April 1, 2021.

Applicants must have graduated or be expected to graduate with an excellent academic record. They are also required to have the recommendation of his or her university president or academic advisor, and undergo adequate Japanese language proficiency training. Additionally, they must show financial need to pursue higher education.
