Pia Wurtzbach says Rabiya Mateo is ‘trying to be in the moment’ after her Miss Universe journey

Looks like Pia Wurtzbach immediately reached out to Rabiya Mateo after the latter’s Miss Universe journey.

In Nelson Canlas’ “24 Oras” report, Wednesday, the Miss Universe 2015 revealed that she had spoken to the Ilongga beauty queen.

“I asked how she was, I gave her advice and told her that if she needs to cry, she should cry so she can let it out,” Pia said in a mix of English and Filipino.

“‘The important thing is you know that you’re not alone. We’re here for you and you have so many opportunities waiting for you when you get home,’” she added.

Asked about how Rabiya was doing, Pia said she was “trying to be in the moment and not be on her phone too much.”

Pia said Rabiya also thanked her for lending her a pair of earrings which she used as her good luck charm for the recently concluded pageant.

Rabiya bowed out early at last Monday’s 69th Miss Universe pageant after failing to earn a spot at the competition’s Top 10. She finished at Top 21.

Despite the loss, the beauty queen said she did her best, adding she’s excited to write a new “beautiful chapter.”

Earlier Wednesday, Rabiya also shared that she would be exploring US alone.
