Over 10,000 residents affected by the recent 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Abra have received help from GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a “24 Oras” report on Wednesday, among the beneficiaries was 75-year-old Clarita Tullas, who had to endure the ground’s shaking alone in their home in Tayum.

Clarita’s children are not always home because of their work. Out of fear, she has been sleeping on the floor near the main door in case another earthquake strikes. She also expressed concern due to the visible cracks in some parts of their home.

“Para ’pag lumindol, makatakbo ako. Babangon na lang ako, palabas na ako,” she said.

“’Di bale nang sira ang mga gamit, basta buhay po ako,” she added.

“Ninenerbyos ako nang husto. Parang hindi na ako makagalaw. Nakaupo na lang ako. Tinitingnan ko lang iyong [mga] basag. Naalala ko iyong mga gamit ko na bumaliktad.”

Clarita and other residents in Bangued, Bucay, San Juan, and Tayum received relief goods, bread, and hygiene kits under the foundation’s Operation Bayanihan.

Medicine and vitamins were also given to Abra Provincial Hospital.

“Nararamdaman ng mga tao iyong comfort kahit meron silang fear dahil sa nabibigay na support pati na rin food items na kailangang-kailangan ng mga tao ngayon,” said Rufino Belerma Jr., project development officer II of DSWD CAR-Municipality of Abra.

GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, Shopee, GCash, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
