Teacher in Misamis Occidental motivates students by urging them to dance

By GMA News

A teacher in Misamis Occidental is motivating his students not with stars or stickers, but by urging them to dance.

As seen on Oscar Oida’s “24 Oras” report Wednesday, Jeric Maribso’s students have to copy his steps first before they can come to class.

Apart from that, he also encourages them to pick name tags that have their dream profession, gives them vitamins, and even food.

“Dapat ma-increase yung motivation nila to study so that’s why every day, paiba-iba yung activities ko,” he said.

“Kapag empty stomach nila, no learning at all.”

At times, he also teaches his kids by singing, story telling with costumes and props, as well as informing them on current events.

Though the expenses for these come from his own pocket, Teacher Jeric said he doesn’t mind. He also believes it will be beneficial.

“Isa sa mga basis ko na successful yung teaching performance ko is that when there is an increase of motivation and academic performance.”

Way to go, Teacher Jeric!—Franchesca Viernes/LDF, GMA News
