Valenzuela's giant Christmas tree is city's symbol of progress

By GMA Integrated News

Valenzuela City marked the start of holiday festivities as the local government led the ceremonial lighting of the giant Christmas tree at the People’s Park on Thursday.

According to Mariz Umali’s report on “24 Oras”, the 50-foot tree symbolizes Valenzuela’s continuous progress which the city government attributed to the sacrifices and the dedication of its employees.

Various attractions were likewise put up at the park including an interactive fountain, a food fiesta, and a Christmas bazaar. Four other areas also lit up around the city: Family Park, West Arena, Fatima Avenue, and Polo Park.

Meanwhile, the city government thanked its 8,000 workers by holding a Christmas party for them in time for the annual ceremony.
