Dogs with cruel past, rescued, find 'furever' homes

By GMA Integrated News

Three dogs that were victims of abuse and cruelty in the past were rescued and found their “furever” family and homes, according to Saleema Refran’s “24 Oras” report on Friday.

Dog Pablo was found inside a sack, while his mouth was tied with wire in Bulacan, Bulacan last August 2022. Dog Prince was found in another sack.

Both dogs were bound for Cagayan to be sold to dog meat traders.

Another dog Guin suffered from a severely injured leg due to abuse. She, however, still  took care of her little puppies.

These dogs were rescued, underwent treatment, and found “furever” families that adopted and took care of them.

The “furever” family of Guin was touched with her story which led them to adopt her and her puppies.

“Malambing, kaya sabi namin mukhang she found us hindi kami yung nakahanap sa kanya,” Agnes Del Rosario, “pawrent” of Guin, said.

Meanwhile, Pablo and Prince also found love and support from their loving “furever” family.

“We promised that we will protect them and provide lahat ng kailangan nila at hindi po namin hahayaan na maharm sila ng ibang tao,” Ivy Bacsain, "furever" family of Pablo and Prince, said.

While Pablo, Prince, and Guin are now homed, their companions in shelters remain longing for a new “furever” family and homes.

“Ang mga aso na galing sa malulungkot na malulupit na situation pag sila ay binigyan mo ng pagmamahal doble doble, triple ang kanilang ibibigay,” Isay Halaba, campaign officer of Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF), said.

Those interested in adopting a pet may visit the AKF’s Facebook page and website at www.akf.org.ph.

The animal rescue and rehabilitation center said these dogs for adoption also underwent rehabilitation and vaccination.

There will be a P500 re-homing fee if their adoption application is approved.

“They deserve so much love and they should not be discriminated. Kung ano yung pinapakita mo babalik din naman nila sa iyo yun eh and lahat sila unconditionally magmahal,” Bacsain said.—Richa Noriega/LDF, GMA Integrated News
